Your Opportunity
We are truly excited to bring our newly shaped General Manager Growth & Commercial role to market. This is a senior leader role in our Customer and Innovation group, within one of Australia’s largest water utilities.
The Customer and Innovation Group leads and champions the way Urban Utilities connects with its customers and enables a growth mindset to remaining contemporary with the services we deliver. We do this through gaining a deep understanding of the current and future needs of our customers and appropriately shaping our services.
Reporting to the Executive Leader, this role leads the Growth and Commercial team that provides enterprise leadership in fostering innovation across the business, managing research and development initiatives and programmes, and the creation and launch of new products and services that complement our core business. The division identifies and delivers solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business in delivering services to our customers and communities.
This role requires leadership of partnering at all levels of the organisation to develop, implement, and execute an organisation-wide growth strategy that uses customer insights to shape how we improve services. As well as driving a culture of innovation and improvement, the group is tasked with developing new and evolving products and services aligned to the future needs of our customers.
Some of your accountabilities will include:
Set and steer the strategic direction for the organisation by developing and articulating long-term strategic plans that align to the strategic initiatives, organisational goals, and vision.
Lead the fostering of collaboration across the Enterprise. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create and launch innovative products and services.
Champion integrated solution delivery across all teams. Oversee the development and implementation of integrated plans that align with organisational goals.
Driving innovation enterprise wide by leading the creation of a growth mindset, that creates opportunities for business improvement, best practice discovery, and the creation of new products and services.
Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth that complement our business and create value.
Build and sustain an inclusive environment and make sure others feel considered and a sense of belonging. Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and professional development.
About You
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
You lead others with courage, humility, empathy and authenticity, with proven ability to grow and evolve team. You'll foster an inclusive and high-performing culture to safely deliver exceptional results.
You have a growth mindset and are highly collaborative. You can build strategic and purposeful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as priority customer groups.
You have performed similar roles in a regulated entity as well as the private sector, building, designing and delivering growth and innovation strategies aligned to customer and community outcomes.
Deep expertise in technology, strategic planning, innovation management, research and development, and commercial strategy within the utilities sector or a similar industry.
You can engage externally with confidence and you can adeptly navigate the complex needs of the Board and shareholder participants.
Tertiary education in Business, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or specialised industry experience.
