About the role
You will be responsible forleading enterprise-wide strategic data architecture decisions that will directly enable high-profile customer and organisational outcomes.
You will collaborate across functions to drive the delivery of consolidated public and private data platforms across the organisation, including technical and platform design, and the development of governing principles to produce data architecture and solutions that enable great customer outcomes while meeting organisational and compliance needs.
Key responsibilities include
Data Architecture Design:Develop reference data architecture, platforms, integration patterns, and governance frameworks in conjunction with stakeholders to ensure scalability, performance, sustainability and data security across the entire technology and product stack.
Cloud Data Platforms: Focus on building and managing cloud-based data solutions, with a strong preference for AWS technologies and data warehousing solutions like Snowflake or GCP or Redshift, ensuring platform integration and optimisation.
Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure that data architecture supports governance policies and compliance standards, including HIPAA, APPs, and the Privacy Act.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional digital teams, engineers, platform teams and other key stakeholders to understand needs andopportunities and translate them into scalable, effective data architecture solutions.
AI/ML Enablement: Ensure that the division’s data architecture is designed to support AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics use cases, enabling future growth and innovation.
Best Practices and Mentorship: Promote and implement best practices for data management, governance, and security, ensuring the data architecture remains robust and adaptable to future needs. Provide data analytics and technical leadership and mentoring to develop data capability within the organization
Your skills and experience
Your technical skills
and Technology Expertise: In-depth experience in data solutions. AWS is preferred (e.g., AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, S3, EC2, Lambda) but other cloud equivalents are also acceptable. In-depth experience in Cloud-based data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift, including integration and optimisation.Familiarity with the entire data ecosystem including databases, ETL tools, analytics platforms, and data visualisation technologies.
Support office roles will be headquartered across McKell, Parramatta and Gosford. We will consider role headquarters outside of the above locations where the role can reasonably be performed from that location taking into consideration the operational, financial and customer requirements of the role, and an ability to attend a NSW Government workplace as . At the point an employee is notified of our intention to assign them to a role, the relevant leader will discuss headquarter options.
Salary Service NSW Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting
at $157,569 base plus superannuation
