The opportunity

Reporting directly to our experienced, Head of Engineering, you will be a key contributor to our technical vision, and setting the standard for engineering excellence within our team. Working closely with Product and Design/UX, your role will involve aligning our mobile engineering efforts with the company's strategic objectives and delivering a great user experience for our customers.

Key responsibilities:

Banking Software Development: Work on the development of our banking integration layer, focusing on features such as calculating cashback, processing Visa transactions, and handling batch jobs like debt collection and reporting. Ensure high-quality code that meets both functional and performance requirements. Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and Design Team to understand project goals and deliver features that enhance user experience.

Financial UX and UI Enhancement: Work closely with our Product Manager and Design Team to translate design concepts into user-friendly interfaces for our banking software. Continuously iterate on the software's design to improve the overall user experience and user journey flow, particularly in areas involving financial transactions and cashback calculations.

Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers on the team. Share best practices, conduct code reviews, and actively contribute to the team's growth and knowledge sharing.

Quality Assurance: Maintain a robust testing process, including unit tests and integration tests, to ensure the reliability and stability of the mobile app. Add automated testing where applicable.

Essential skills & experience

Five (5) years experience as a software engineer. Demonstrated expertise in software development, architecture, and design.Proficiency in the following tech stack: Golang, AWS ECS, and Terraform.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with product and design to implement the product roadmap.

Hilghly desirable (but not essential) skills & experience

Backend experience working on a financial services product.Experience in working in an early stage start-up environment, ideally within a small or early stage team.Strong advocate of XP practices such as TDD, pair programming, continuous integration, and refactoring to enhance code quality and team productivity.
