About the role

We are looking for a PHP Developer to join our friendly, tightknit IT team here at Buildsafe. This is a new role and an addition to the IT team, reporting to the IT Development Manager. Our Gold Coast head office is located in Arundel and there is the possibility of WFH options for the right applicant. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, stays current with industry trends, and is committed to writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

Key responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain web applications using PHP

· Work on both backend and frontend development

· Write clean, efficient, and maintainable JavaScript

· Work with SQL/MySQL databases to store and retrieve data

· Build and integrate REST APIs

· Ensure applications are optimized for performance and security

What We’re Looking For

· Recent extensive experience with PHP (no reliance on frameworks like Laravel or Symfony)

· Strong JavaScript skills

· Experience working with SQL/MySQL databases

· Comfortable working with REST APIs

· Good understanding of HTML & CSS

· Ability to troubleshoot and debug code efficiently

· Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team

· Strong problem-solving skills
